Retired Agricultural Scientist — B. Ag. Sci. (Melb.); M. Ed. St. (Monash); PhD. (Monash)

Grew up in Traralgon as member of a long-established Farming Family. I was educated at Grey Street State School & Traralgon High School in the 1950s & early 1960s.

I taught Agriculture at Secondary & Tertiary levels. Also involved in the development of the Environmental Science subject (year 12 level) in 1970/80’s (including Chair of the Panel of Examiners).

My career path took me to Senior Lecturer/Deputy Head of campus at McMillan Campus, Melb. Uni. (formerly Victorian College of Agriculture & Horticulture).

Community interests included Chair of Gippsland Committee for Adult & Further Education (ACFE); Member of Federal Gippsland Area Consultative Committee (Regional Development); foundation member of the Gippsland Agribusiness Forum (now Food & Fibre Gippsland); Board member West Gippsland Catchment Management Authority (WGCMA), chaired the Regional Landcare Forum for the Board; President Traralgon & District Agricultural Society; presently President of the Traralgon & District Historical Society Inc.

I have always had an interest and commitment to the development and wellbeing of Gippsland, especially the Latrobe Valley area, i.e. in ALL aspects of living - economically, socially, culturally & environmentally.
