Trevor Colvin
Journalist and Editor
Born in Trentham, Trevor moved to Melbourne to gain a marketing diploma from RMIT and worked in the Melbourne advertising agency industry before embarking on a long career with ‘The Age’, including five years in south-east Asia, based in Hong Kong, where he built a magazine publishing business, producing eight monthly magazines and two annual directories.
He also spent a lot of time in China working directly with the government in Beijing helping the Chinese government set up its first English-language national daily newspaper and launching that paper to the world, involving a lot of world travel.
In 1995 after leaving ‘The Age’, Trevor started a specialist international publishing software business, which continues today.
Trevor and his wife Susie Foletta moved to Wonyip, in the Strzelecki Ranges, where they lived off-grid for eleven years on an 85 acre hobby-farm, before moving to Yarram and five years ago moving to Trafalgar.
Trevor resurrected the defunct Traf News in 2023, relaunching it as Traf District News and is still heavily involved in the paper as Editor-In-Chief.
He and Susie are both involved in community work in Trafalgar and Trevor also spent fifteen years in Landcare.
